Challenges and trends in 3G devices

This paper overviews a number of the key advances achieved with the creation and deployment of 2G mobile networks, specifically GSM, and then compares and contrasts this with the key drivers and perceived advances behind new 3G mobile networks. A number of the key issues for creation of successful 3G devices and services are explored in overview, and the current challenges facing designers of 3G devices are reviewed.
