  • Abstract
    This paper shows the impact of different handover parameter settings on the performance of a mobile assisted UMTS-GSM handover algorithm. Mainly a trade-off between blocking of GSM calls and dropping of UMTS calls can be observed. Furthermore, the influence of the user´s velocity and the loading of the UMTS network on the handover parameters are investigated.
