Abstract :
Building a workable large-scale work management system poses interesting engineering challenges. The system must support high transaction volumes, geographically distributed processing, sub-second access to workitems, high availability, and yet be economical to implement. This paper describes such an architecture that can support enterprise-wide work management using off-the-shelf microcomputer technology.
