  • Abstract
The relating of product specifications to measurement standards must be undertaken with great care. It is very easy to overlook important sections of the product performance particularly in the so called `Grey´ areas and at the borders and limits of the specification. Many users however seem to use the products in these `Grey´ areas to make measurements sometimes oblivious of the risks they are taking. Unfortunately, there is no easy solution to the of problem of relating product specifications to measurement standards. It is necessary to pay careful attention how the individual parts of the specification are used and combined to demonstrate the product performance
