Abstract :
To measure cylinder temperature field in direct-injected diesel engine laser induced fluorescence (LIF) technology has been demonstrated. This technique introduces a new tool with respect to practical combustors for the analysis of temperature field, turbulent flame front structure, and differences between standard and improved combustors. Schematic of the experimental set-up is outlined and the experimental data on the diesel engine is summarized. Experiments are taken using a common rail injection system able to work at a maximum pressure of 135 MPa, a swirled type injector with a nozzle diameter of 0.124 mm and a nominal cone angle of 150deg. The investigation is conducted by applying the 2D imaging and the LIF techniques in a flow test rig, designed for capturing the tumble motion in a prototype cylinder. The measurement system includes a blower, which supplied the intake flow rate, and a prototype single-valve direct injection diesel engine head modified to lay down the swirled-type injector. The temperature field spatial distributions in the cylinder for different crank angle degrees are carried out in a single direct-injection diesel engine. It gives the theory and method about measuring temperature field exactly in directed-injection diesel engine.
