Abstract :
An EMG (electromyogram)-torque model based on measurements during isometric muscle contractions was developed. The model was used to predict the reflex mediated torque during a stretch of the ankle dorsiflexors. The predicted values are compared to measured values, and it is proposed that the model can quantitate the mechanical component of the stretch reflex in normal and motor diseased humans
