Abstract
Product-based measures were compared to simple average composites to determine ability to predict performance in a higher-level task. Selection of composite components based on resource economic principles and a previously defined elemental resource model for human performance, was also investigated. Normal healthy males were used to study age-related performance. Product composites formed with resource elements stressed by the higher-level task (e.g. those which are potentially limiting) exhibit superior correlation with actual measures of task performance
