Abstract :
The Software Engineering Institute publishes a set of key practices describing “what” should be done by an organization developing software, but not “how” to achieve it. Each organization has the responsibility to develop and implement a company standard process. For such a process to be effective, the software project teams must accept it as adding value to their development efforts, and be capable of utilizing it efficiently. Thus, failure to achieve stated goals can have its root cause in either the process or its implementation. Both an appropriate process and a rational implementation are required. The Lockheed Fort Worth Company is implementing a Standard Software Process. This process incorporates continuous process improvement based upon project experience
