Abstract :
Ciola is a generic student learning assessment software that establishes students´ profiles and expertise on selected topics as directed decorated and colored graphs of prerequisites. Instructors and students can use Ciola to obtain feedback on comprehension of taught topics, skills development and class progress in a visual manner. Starting in fall 2006, Ciola will be used in calculus in a K-12 institution in France, and at Pace University to assess and monitor students´ knowledge and progress in programming, databases and software engineering courses, as well as in teamwork skills development
