Abstract :
The characteristics of the reconstruction of polarization holography are investigated in order to analyze the fundamental performance of polarization holographic memory system. It is found that, in general, the polarization state of the reconstructed signal is different from that of the recorded signal. This fact makes the design of polarization holographic memory system complicated because we have to retrieve the polarization state of original signal from measured data. In this paper we describe preliminary experimental results of photodissociation-type holographic media. We discuss the special material condition the signal can be faithfully reconstructed.
