Abstract :
This work focuses on enabling on-line Web delivery of the real-time DSP course offered at Arizona State University (ASU). For this purpose, tools are developed so that on-line students can directly control, via the Web, the actual DSP boards, hardware equipment, and software tools in the real-time embedded signal processing (RESP) laboratory from remote locations using different networking and I/O protocols. Working online test benches are set up for remote experimentation; two online test benches are presented, one using the Freescale DSP kit, and a second one using the Texas Instruments DSP kit. To test the quality of the on-line real-time DSP delivery and remote access, online assessment was conducted; the obtained feedback reflects high satisfaction recommending the use of the online version
