Abstract :
This article, based on the Assembly Net´s Precision Assembly Roadmap 2010, describes some of the trends affecting European industry. Assembly is the perspective under analysis, and the article discusses some of the potential threats lurking behind these current trends. The authors conclude with a short overview of the roadmap issues, and propose a potentially beneficial approach that could be adopted to turn such trends into opportunities.
