Abstract
A performance prediction model for irregular and regular parallel applications is first presented in this paper. A performance prediction tool, named IP3T (Irregular Parallel Performance Prediction Tool) is then described. The main features of the IP3T tool are finally discussed. The distinctive feature of the model and the tool is that they afford to predict the performance of industry-oriented complex applications. The model was designed to be easily extensible. The IP3T tool has been successfully tested with several complex applications on MIMD-DM parallel machines and on networks of workstations and has proven to be accurate and reliable
