Abstract :
We present a comparative study of the properties of γ-ray detectors made of recently discovered inorganic scintillators. In the present study we include CeF3, LSO, PbCO3, PbSO 4 and compare with BGO and BaF2. We consider cylindrical detectors of various radii and lengths. The main characteristics that we study are detector efficiency, and timing, as functions of energy threshold, and geometrical dimensions of the detector
