Abstract
The current cellular system in the U.S.A. is designed to accommodate increasing subscribers by splitting its cells into smaller zones. However, this splitting technique has the limitation that the minimum radius of a cell is approximately two kilometers. If the number of increasing subscribers exceeds this limited capacity, narrowing the band of radio channels becomes necessary. In this paper, the Bit Error Rate (BER) of 4800 bit/s data transmission in the case of narrow radio channel spacing of 15 kHz is evaluated by means of computer similation and some experiments. This paper is to report the satisfactory results of this evaluation.
