Abstract :
The AER Energy zinc-air battery is an innovative rechargeable battery technology currently being developed for commercialization. AER Energy´s efforts have produced zinc-air batteries with an energy density of 155 watt hours per kilogram, nearly triple the NiMH´s energy density. Zinc-air technology has the potential to reach 200 watt hours per kilogram, almost four times the current level. This means NiMH battery-powered computers obtaining only 2.5 to 4 hours of runtime today could be achieving 8 to 12 hours of computer runtime on an equal weight of zinc-air batteries.<>
