Abstract :
In this paper we analyze the performance of a search algorithm for the acquisition mode of the synchronization process over fading dispersive channels. The mean and variance of synchronization time for the proposed algorithm are derived and evaluated for different values of channel spread, grid size and signal-to-noise ratio. Finally, a comparison is made between the performance of the new algorithm and the performance of a general serial search algorithm.
