Abstract :
The yarn nep often shows severe local-extent change of the signal. Because the wavelet transform can inspect the singularity of the signal, we use the wavelet transform to deal with the yarn signal and identify the nep. A new method of identifying the yarn nep based on the wavelet analysis is given in this paper, the result of the experiment shows that identifying rate of the cotton neps can attain 97%.
