Abstract :
Mobile radio system performances are strongly influenced by the random signal distortion due to the severe radio propagation conditions. The paper presents the results of a software simulation, performed with the aim of analyzing the importance of the parameters and of the functions characterizing the different environmental conditions. As the basis for the computations, we assumed the experimental results obtained in the research activity for the new digital Pan-European system. The results here presented are related to the irreducible probability of error for a BFSK system, which was thought to be the most appropriate for emphasizing the effect of the random channel.
