Abstract
The Wallace tree encoder has been used successfully in full-flash ADCs to convert the "thermometer code" to binary, while performing error correction. In this paper we show how a Wallace tree encoder can be realized to convert to binary the "circular code" in folding and interpolation ADCs. A very compact solution is obtained for 8-bit ADCs. We show that the proposed encoder has increased error correcting capability with respect to the existing alternative
