Abstract
The paper deals with the realization of a new instrument for the qualification of third generation mobile telecommunication systems. It is based on the parallel computing of a time-frequency representation called Smoothed-Pseudo Wigner-Ville Distribution (SPWVD) on a multi-DSP architecture. The SPWVD allows performing signal analysis simultaneously in both time and frequency domain. The hardware and software implementation of the instrument prototype are presented and discussed. Then, first validation results, obtained on W-CDMA signals compliant with the 3GPP standard, are reported.
