Abstract
A method for reducing the effects of aliasing in the measurement of the step response of a digital waveform recorder is described. It is based on assembling N records taken at random times relative to the sampling clock, and requires no special hardware. It is shown that the aliasing errors are reduced by a factor of √N. The method also reduces the effects of noise and jitter by a factor of √N.
