Abstract :
Recently, considerable research has been reported on the design of network coverage, but mostly relies on static sensors. This paper investigates the coverage problem by using mobile wireless sensor networks, which aims to coordinate the mobile sensors to achieve 2-coverage. Under the premises of connectivity and 2-coverage, a sensor placement method is proposed. In order to prolong the network lifetime, a switch method is provided to operate the sleeping mode of sensors. Additionally, a potential-based algorithm is proposed to drive the sensors to the desired coverage position, where collision avoidance problem can be solved. Based on Lyapunov theory, it is proved that the proposed algorithm is convergent. The simulation demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.
