Abstract
This paper presents harmonic measurement produced by the heavy industrial loads in Oman and compares these measurements with limits specified by international standards. Furthermore, designing of a shunt filter is discussed which is effective in minimizing current distortion that is caused by nonlinear loads in industrial power systems. The filter duties are satisfying IEEE standard limits.
