Abstract :
Activated sludge wastewater treatment process is difficult to be controlled because of its complex, time-varying and non-linear behavior, however, the control of the dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration in the reactors plays an important role in the operation of the facility. For this reason an adaptive fuzzy PID control has been applied to control the DO concentration. The optimal values of PID parameters are obtained by using Fuzzy sets to maximize the performance of the system. The results show that adaptive fuzzy PID control can be effectively used for DO control in activated sludge wastewater treatment process.
