Abstract :
Summary form only given: STRAFI is a technique that basically uses a very strong magnetic field gradient which is in most cases much larger than the internal interactions or distortions. Therefore the method is widely independent of the sample type. A typical example of a magnetically inhomogeneous environment is soil. The author investigated a model system showing the effect of the soil to the images of e.g. roots inside the soil. Typical objects with a large line width due to proton dipolar coupling are polymers. Some examples of simple commercial products showing internal distortions due to the manufacturing process are shown. Even the line of liquids diffusing into a polymer is substantially widened. An example of acetone diffusing into PVC is shown
