  • Abstract
ATM enables point-to-multipoint communication. And there are service demands to use this function like a broadcast TV service. We implemented the ATM point-to-multipoint NMS in a hierarchically distributed way. This hierarchy is based on the ATM Forum Network View concept. To realize parallel processing, distribution of the NMS is indispensable. But a problem occurs when we add some termination points to an atmTrail or remove some termination points from one. It is sometimes impossible or inappropriate to manage a new atmTrail by the SubNMS that managed the atmTrail before the adding or the removing operation was conducted. In this paper we propose moving the atmTTrail from one SubNMS to another if necessary after the adding and the removing operation
