Abstract
Fetal pulse oximetry is a promising new technique for intrapartum monitoring. Preliminary results suggest that it is able to reflect fetal oxygenation, and can furthermore detect fetal acidosis because oxygen saturation levels drop as the haemoglobin dissociation curve is shifted to the right
