Abstract
The processing and analysis of X-ray images of spine tumors using digital image processing techniques is discussed. Two highly effective methods are presented for extracting the shape and construction characteristics. Then fuzzy techniques are used to classify the spinal diseases from these characteristics. Experimental results disclosed that these techniques are highly accurate in the diagnosis of the tumors on spine and other abnormalities. The fuzzy techniques presented provide a firm base for implementing automatic recognition and establishment of an expert system for spinal diseases
