Abstract :
The functional features of the most widely used biosensors and the associated signal processing are discussed. These include semiconductor thermal sensors, such as thermally sensitive diodes or transistors, piezoelectric and optical pressure sensors, magnetically sensitive sensors (Hall effect) and optical motion sensors, and mechanical stress sensitive devices such as strain gauges as vibration sensors. Also presented is a typical electronic circuit that amplifies conditions and extracts the signal reliably from any of the abovementioned biosensors
