Abstract :
Summary form only given. A carbonaceous deposit is formed on the surface of electrodes by barrier discharge in CH/sub 4/, mixed gas of CH/sub 4/ and N/sub 2/+NO(0, 1134 ppm). In the investigation, the authors investigated the constituent parts of the carbonaceous deposit. The previous papers had reported the rate of NO decomposition is better than the case of no pre-treatment. In the paper, the authors analyze the composition of carbonaceous deposit. The authors formed a carbonaceous deposit by a barrier discharge. The frequency of the power supply was about 5 kHz. After this treatment, the authors analyzed the carbonaceous deposit by FT/Raman and FT/IR.
