Abstract :
In this study, we constructed a walking guidance system for the visually handicapped people with FM wave information given by low power transmitters and a commercial portable radio. The efficacy of guiding information from the walking guidance system was evaluated in walking experiments for the visually handicapped who can go out done by himself. As a result, it became evident that the visually handicapped could understand the guiding information, suppose a psychological map and arrive at his destination precisely, and that the analysis of quantification method of the third type by using the evaluation of guiding information enabled us to classify the subject into three groups and to show abilities to go out or to walk.
