  • Abstract
Solar power and wind are the most promising distributed energy sources, being a growing component of electricity grids around the world due to its contributions to energy system de-carbonization, long term energy security, and expansion of energy access to new energy consumers in the developing world. Although the benefits are numerous, grid integration and power quality issues are also of growing concern. This paper gives a brief overview of the grid integration challenges and power quality issues, and then the results of on-site power quality measurements in the grid before and after the connection of the solar photovoltaic system to the grid.
