Abstract :
This study aims at investigating the possibility of the electrostatic field spraying in the electrohydrodynamic system, essential, very volatile oils extracted from plants, such as: thyme, dill, caraway, hexenal, etc. The paper first investigated experimentally the function of various types of injectors, the possibility of obtaining a sprayed particle distribution as uniform as possible. For a series of given parameters: nozzle diameters, liquid resistivity, liquid flow rate, the electric loading was studied, expressed in C/kg, of the particles obtained from the above-mentioned oils, function the variable parameters: high voltage applied on the injector and pressure of the air used for the spraying. The paper also deals with the families of characteristics: specific loading (C/kg) function of the applied high voltage, for various pressures of the air used in the spraying; specific loading (C/kg) function of the pressure of the air used in the spraying for various high voltage applied to the injector; specific loading of the mentioned oils function for their dilution in ethyl alcohol for various values of the high voltage and air pressure. The particle size distribution of the studied oils and series of information regarding the results of applying these oils to the food preservation are also dealt with in the paper
