Abstract
This paper presents a position sensorless approach to general purpose inverter-fed fully-pitched winding reluctance motor drives. The proposed sensorless algorithm is based on the measured magnetizing curves of the motor under two-phase excitation and the rotor position information can be estimated by using both the flux-linkage and the exciting current. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme has been verified by experiments using 400 W, 3000 RPM fully-pitched winding reluctance motor with 12/8 teeth configuration
