Abstract :
The inductance of electrolytic capacitors came into focus when the progress in the area of voltage source inverters with IGBTs towards greater power ratings required more and more minimized inductances of the power stages. The paper describes the construction and use of new low inductance electrolytic capacitors. By a special design of screw terminal electrolytic capacitors their inductance can be cut down to about half of the value of standard types. Test results and several application hints are given
