Abstract :
A fuzzy logic estimator is proposed for mobile positioning of direct sequence code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) cellular system by using received signal strengths. The position estimation is based on measured pilot signal strengths at the mobile station (MS) from a number of the nearby base stations (BSs). In order to improve the accuracy of the estimation, a smoother takes the past and current output data from the fuzzy estimator and processes the data for the improvement. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the performance of the proposed fuzzy estimator
