Abstract
The blocking probabilities of a hierarchical cellular system, with 36 macrocells and 27 microcells, under non-uniform traffic distribution have been simulated. Separated Autonomous Reuse Partitioning (SARP) and Hierarchical Autonomous Reuse Partitioning schemes (HARP) have been used to allocate channels to the users. It is found that at a GOS of 2%, HARP can accept more than double the traffic of SARP. When the traffic of the hot spots cells doubles, moreover, the blocking probability of both systems increases from 2% to 8%
