Abstract :
A beamforming network and several beam selection schemes are considered for the transmitter for a space-time-block-coded OFDM system in a high-speed TDMA/TDD QPSK indoor wireless network at 5.7 GHz. By simulating two statistical propagation models, we find that the proposed system with a 24-beam antenna for coherent and differential detection can gain 5 dB and 6 dB SNR improvements relative to the use of omnidirectional antennas at the transmitter, respectively, at a BER of 10/sup -5/.
