  • Abstract
This work investigates the possible SNR gain, which can be obtained by using two-branch transmit diversity with two-branch receive diversity. Furthermore a low complexity pre-detection antenna system for a handheld phone has been investigated as an option for receive diversity. The pre-detection antenna system consists of two antenna elements where the phase is altered prior to a RF combining. The results show the potential for a significant improvement of the overall SNR performance by using diversity at both the transmitter and receiver
