Abstract :
In CDMA systems with adaptive antennas, the direction of the terminals must be considered when controlling the admission of new calls. This paper proposes a call admission control algorithm based on the estimated signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) at the output of the adaptive antennas. The algorithm estimates the SINR for a new call using the response vector of the call request packet and the correlation matrix deciding to accept or block new calls. Numerical results show that adaptive antennas are effectively utilized under the proposed call admission control algorithm
