Abstract :
This paper describes a principle and analysis of starting method of new type single-phase PM motor without position sensor that consists of a stator core like that on the shading pole motor and a two-poles permanent magnet rotor. Since this motor is partially saturated by small current, it is possible to estimate the rotor pole-position without noise and vibration when discriminating magnetic polarity using magnetic saturation
