Abstract :
We investigate the system performance and compatibility of the Internet protocol TCP/IP integrated with wireless network protocols over IS-2000 based CDMA (i.e., cdma2000) lossy radio links. Our investigation focuses on the effects of different lower-level wireless network protocols to the overall system performance. Specifically, we evaluate system performance with two operation modes (transparent, and non-transparent) at the IS-707 radio link protocol (RLP) layer. For the high-bandwidth cdma2000 system, we present the significant performance difference with and without subdivision of the physical layer frame to smaller logical transmission units (LTUs) at the MAC layer
