Abstract :
A theoretical model for uplink capacity analysis of a DS-CDMA based, power controlled wireless local loop system equipped with narrowbeam antenna is presented. First, interference from surrounding cells in the multicell environment is investigated. From relevant simulation results, system capacity can be increased by employing subscriber directional antennas and antenna arrays at the base station. Next, we studied the capacity performance in the multimedia multirate situation. The effect of other system parameters on the capacity is also presented for comparison
