Abstract :
Based on more than 100,000 impulse responses collected in several buildings in the Helsinki region, the tapped delay line channel models are developed for indoor environments and the statistical characteristics for each tap are analysed in detail. The amplitudes for the taps follow Rayleigh and Rice distributions, and the Doppler spectra follow classical, Rice and flat models. The correlation between any of the two taps of the models is small. The results are useful for designing indoor mobile communications systems at 5 GHz frequencies
