Abstract :
We consider the problem of minimizing the outage probability for data transmission in a fading channel. We consider a block flat fading channel, where both the transmitter and receiver have perfect knowledge of the channel gain of the current block. The delay constraint is in the form of an exponential sliding window. We present power control schemes that minimize the time-averaged outage probability. Significant SNR gains are afforded by these schemes
