Abstract
Symbolic computation techniques (SCT) are applied for the evaluation of problems in electromagnetics by making use of the Mathematica and Macsyma packages. The results are compared in terms of the obtained numerical and analytical information. In particular the authors discuss the short wire problem and antenna analysis
