Abstract :
The paper reports on research and development in building a networked prototype VR system MyL@nd with 3D humanoids in action. MyL@nd is a simple networked 3D virtual environment built using VRML and Java. The system was created based on the idea of a flexible and interoperable system. It also has to incorporate basic features which are discussed. Further in the paper, this prototype will be used to illustrate and explain some of the design and implementation considerations in building such a system
