Abstract :
Based on the higher-order cumulant, a new approach to TOA (time of arrival) estimation is proposed for subscriber location in mobile communication systems. The correlation approach and a frequency domain deconvolution are used to convert the TOA estimation problem to an estimation of frequency. By the use of higher-order cumulants of the measurement data, the noise was suppressed and the TOA estimation obtained correctly. Finally simulation examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this approach
