  • Abstract
    The mobile reception of the COFDM-based DVB-T system is limited by the Doppler frequency in a mobile environment. The long period of COFDM-symbol of the DVB-T system introduces ICI. An algorithm to equalize, in the frequency-domain, the nonlinear variation of the fast time-variant channel using a piecewise linear method is proposed. Using this equalization algorithm, we can eliminate ICI and show that the requirements of European digital TV can be satisfied in the high-speed mobile environment. The comparison between the linear and nonlinear equalization of the fast time-variant channel is done using computer simulation. It is shown that the piecewise linear equalization of the fast time-variant channel is effective
